Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Laphonza Butler (D-Calif.) released the following statement on back pay owed to security screening employees at San Francisco International Airport (SFO):
“Congress finally delivered a raise for TSA security agents after a long fight for pay equity. Now, the responsibility falls on TSA to ensure all contractors and employees—the backbone of our airport security—are treated fairly and receive their well-deserved compensation.
“The gap between Congress’ intent and the reality for many workers still remains an urgent concern for over 1,000 people at SFO Airport. Covenant Aviation Security should ensure these hard-working professionals are rightfully-compensated and paid every penny owed.”
